Cardamom futures prices rose by Rs 9.80 to Rs 1,530 per kg today, as speculators enlarged their positions to encash on the pick up in demand for the ongoing marriage season.
Limited arrivals in the physical market further fuelled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for April month rose by Rs 9.80, or 0.64 per cent to Rs 1,530 per kg, with an open interest of just one lot.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in February month traded marginally higher by paise 50, or 0.03 per cent to Rs 1,450 per kg, with a business turnover of just two lots.
Market analysts said better domestic demand mainly supported the rise in cardamom futures prices.
