Cardamom prices rose further by Rs 9.60 to Rs 1,114.30 per kg in futures trading today largely on the back of strong demand against restricted supply in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June rose by Rs 9.60, or 0.86%, to Rs 1,114.30 per kg, with a business volume of 36 lots.

Cardamom futures prices for delivery in April moved up by Rs 8.70, or 0.80%, to Rs 1,092 per kg, with a business volume of 119 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in May gained Rs 8.40, or 0.75%, to Rs 1,118 per kg with a business turnover of 119 lots.

Market analysts said rise in cardamom futures prices was due to strong export demand amid low stocks following restricted supply.
