Cardamom futures prices today fell by Rs 11.80 to Rs 1,087.40 per kg, as speculators booked profits, driven by subdued spot demand.

Increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom futures prices.

At the MCX, cardamom for delivery in May fell by Rs 11.80, or 1.07%, to Rs 1,087.40 per kg in business turnover of 2,973 lots.

The June contract lost Rs 10.20, or 0.93%, to Rs 1,091.50 per kg in 1,404 lots.

Market analysts said speculators booking profits at higher levels against subdued demand in the spot market and increased arrivals mainly kept pressure on the cardamom prices at futures trade.
