Cardamom prices declined by Rs 6 to Rs 594.90 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators booked profits amid a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand.

Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for December delivery declined by Rs 6, or 1%, to Rs 594.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 564 lots.

Similarly, for delivery in January it shed Rs 4.60, or 0.75%, to Rs 612 per kg, with a trade volume of 315 lots.

Market analysts said besides, profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot markets also kept pressure on the cardamom prices in the futures market.
