Cardamom prices rose by 0.64% to Rs 854.90 per kg in futures trade today due to rising demand in the spot market against less arrivals.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July gained Rs 5.40, or 0.64%, to Rs 854.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 68 lots.

The August contract gained Rs 3.70, or 0.42%, to Rs 891 per kg, with an open interest of 12 lots.

Market analysts said rising demand in the spot market against less arrivals from producing regions mainly led to the rise in cardamom futures prices.
