Cardamom futures prices rose by Rs 35.60, or 3.60 per cent, to Rs 1,023.90 per kg today on rising demand in spot markets for the current festival season.
Limited arrivals from southern producing regions also influenced the trading sentiment.
At the Multi-Commodity Exchange, cardamom for November rose by Rs 35.60, or 3.60 per cent, to Rs 1,023.90 per kg, with an open interest of 965 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in October gained Rs 15.50, or 1.48 per cent, to Rs 1,062 per kg, with an open interest of 1,499 lots.
Traders said rising demand in the spot market following ongoing festive season against less arrivals from producing regions boosted the cardamom prices at futures market here.
