Cardamom prices rose by Rs 10.30 to Rs 959 per kg in futures trade today on the back of pick-up in demand in the spot market amid low stocks.

Restricted arrivals from the producing regions also supported the rise in prices.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July increased by Rs 10.30, or 1.08% to Rs 959 per kg, with a trading volume of 12 lots.

Likewise, its prices for June delivery rose by Rs 9.90, or 1.06% to Rs 937.90 per kg, with an open interest of 56 lots.

The spice for delivery in May also gained Rs 3.10, or 0.34% to Rs 905 per kg, with trade volume of 19 lots.

Traders said pick-up in spot market demand against restricted arrivals from the producing regions mainly pushed the cardamom futures prices up.
