Cardamom maintained its upward march for the fourth straight day by gaining Rs 3.10 to Rs 637.20 per kg in futures trade today on pick up in demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February gained Rs 3.10, or 0.49%, to Rs 637.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 338 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in March gained Rs 2.70, or 0.41%, to Rs 666 per kg, with a business turnover of 50 lots.

Traders said apart from a firming trend at the spot markets on pick-up in demand due to the marriage season, less arrivals from producing region, mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
