Cardamom prices moved up by Rs 9.20 to Rs 805 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by a pick-up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for July delivery moved up by Rs 9.20, or 1.16%, to Rs 805 per kg with a business turnover of 192 lots.

Similarly, the spice for August delivery gained Rs 7, or 0.83%, to Rs 852.50 per kg in 263 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of a pick-up in demand mainly led to the rise in cardamom futures prices.
