Cardamom prices recovered by Rs 15.80, or 1.52 per cent, to Rs 1,056 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators created fresh positions, supported by pick up in demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for September-month delivery recovered by Rs 15.80, or 1.52 per cent, to Rs 1,056 per kg, with an open interest of 1,484 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November delivery moved up by Rs 13.60, or 1.41 per cent, to Rs 980.20 per kg, with an open interest of 885 lots.

Traders said fresh positions built up by speculators and pick up in demand in the spot markets, mainly influenced the cardamom prices at futures market.
