Cardamom prices rose further by Rs 1.55% to Rs 876.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators increased their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand.

Tight stocks availability in the physical market due to less arrivals from producing belts also supported the upsurge.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the december contract for cardamom moved up by Rs 13.40, or 1.55%, to Rs 876.90 per kg in business turnover of 2,143 lots.

The January contract gained Rs 13.80, or 1.47%, to Rs 950 per kg in 263 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators, driven by rising demand in the spot market mainly kept cardamom futures remain higher.
