Cardamom prices moved up by Rs 10.10 to Rs 948.90 per kg in futures trade today on increased buying by traders on the back of rising spot market demand.
Restricted arrivals from southern producing regions also supported the uptrend.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for October delivery rose by Rs 10.10, or 1.07%, to Rs 948.90 per kg, with trading volume of 33 lots.
The spice for September delivery traded Rs 6.60, or 0.72%, higher at Rs 919 per kg, with business volume of 116 lots.
Similarly, its prices for August delivery moved up by Rs 6, or 0.67%, to Rs 886 per kg, with a business turnover of 665 lots. Traders said rising demand in spot markets against restricted arrivals from southern producing regions mainly pushed up cardamom prices at futures market.
