Cardamom futures prices fell by Rs 9.40, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 1,130 per kg today, as speculators reduced their holdings, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for November-month lost Rs 9.40, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 1,130 per kg, with an open interest of 906 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in October declined by Rs 8.80, or 0.72 per cent to Rs 1,216 per kg, with an open interest of 1,420 lots.

Marketmen said weak trend at the spot market on sluggish demand mainly led to a fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
