Cardamom prices fell by another Rs 8.80 to Rs 804 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market.

Adequate stocks position in the physical market following increased arrivals from producing region also put pressure on the cardamom prices.

At the Multi-Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March fell by Rs 8.80, or 1.08% to Rs 804 per kg in business turnover of 986 lots.

The April contract lost Rs 8.70, or 1.01% to Rs 849.40 per kg in 302 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand mainly led to fall in cardamom prices at futures market.
