Cardamom prices rose by Rs 2.70 to Rs 993 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, buoyed by the pick up in spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October rose by Rs 2.70, or 0.27%, to Rs 993 per kg in a business turnover of 193 lots.

November cardamom edged up by Rs 1.50, or 0.15%, to Rs 994.10 per kg in 19 lots.

Market analysts said creation of positions by speculators on the back of pick up in demand in the spot market amid restricted arrivals from producing belts, led to the rise in cardamom futures here.
