Cardamom rises 0.7% on spot demand

Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions

Cardamom futures for April rose by Rs 5.90, or 0.68% to Rs 871 per kg in 231 lots.     

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract edged up by Rs 2.70, or 0.30% to Rs 895.80 per kg in 402 lots.

Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions, driven by rise in spot market demand ahead of 'Navratras' festival amid restricted arrivals from producing belts.
