Cardamom prices rose by Rs 7.50 to Rs 1,051.90 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the January contract rose by Rs 7.50, or 0.71% to Rs 1,051.90 per kg in business turnover of 479 lots.

Similarly, the February contract traded higher by Rs 5.70, or 0.52%, to Rs 1,091 per kg with a trade volume of 86 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from producing belts led to rise in cardamom prices.
