Cardamom rises 1.48% on fresh spot demand

Restricted arrivals also supported prices

Cardamom prices rose by Rs 17.80 to Rs 1,220 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid low stocks.

Restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the rise in prices, traders said.

On the MCX, cardamom for delivery in July rose by Rs 17.80, or 1.48%, to Rs 1,220 per kg, with a business volume of 340 lots.

The spice for June delivery rose by Rs 6.60, or 0.55%, to Rs 1,194 per kg, with a business volume of 214 lots.

Traders said pick up in spot market demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions led to a rise in cardamom prices futures prices.
