Cardamom prices rose Rs 30.90, to Rs 1,075.50 per kg in futures trade today on the back of demand pick up in the spot market amid low stocks.

Restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the rise in prices.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract surged by Rs 30.90 or 2.95% to Rs 1,075.50 per kg in business volume of 705 lots.

For May contract, it gained by Rs 28.80 or 2.42% to Rs 1,217.80 per kg in a business volume of 477 lots.

Traders said pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up cardamom prices in the futures market.
