Cardamom futures prices rose further today by Rs 10.20 to Rs 778 per kg, on firm demand for the ongoing festive season.

Restricted arrivals from southern producing regions also supported the uptrend.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, November contract rose by Rs 10.20, or 1.32%, to Rs 778 per kg, with a trading volume of 225 lots.

The October cardamom traded higher by Rs 8.90, or 1.26%, at Rs 709.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 130 lots, while prices for December contract also moved up by Rs 9.20, or 1.14%, to Rs 814 per kg, with an open interest of 28 lots.

Traders said rising demand in spot market for the ongoing festive season against restricted arrivals from southern producing regions, mainly pushed up cardamom futures prices.
