Cardamom rises on fresh spot demand

Cardamom futures today rose by Rs 45.70 to Rs 1,568.50 per kg on pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi-Commodity Exchange, the cardamom contract for August month rose by Rs 45.70, or 3 per cent, to Rs 1,568.50 per kg in a trading volume of 27 lots.

The September contract surged by Rs 38.10, or 3 per cent, to Rs 1,307.40 per kg in business turnover of 102 lots.

The October contract gained Rs 31.60, or 2.84 per cent, to trade at Rs 1,143.90 per kg.

Traders said pick up in demand in the spot market due to ongoing festive season mainly boosted cardamom prices at futures market.
