Cardamom prices rose by Rs 11.90 to Rs 762 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions driven by a firm demand in the domestic markets.
Lower arrivals from producing regions in the spot market too influenced cardamom prices in the futures market here.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, October cardamom contract rose by Rs 11.90, or 1.58%, to Rs 762 per kg in a business turnover of 1850 lots.
TheDecember contract gained Rs 12.40, or 1.47%, to Rs 854.90 per kg in a trading volume of 146 lots, while November contract surged by Rs 10.20, or 1.28,% to Rs 805 per kg in 324 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures prices to strong export and domestic demand amid restricted arrivals in the spot markets.
