Cardamom prices rose by Rs 2.10 to Rs 744 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid a rise in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January rose by Rs 2.10, or 0.28%, to Rs 744 per kg in business turnover of 54 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 1.60, or 0.22%, to Rs 715 per kg with a trade volume of 299 lots.
Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from producing belts mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
