Cardamom futures rise 0.40% on pick-up in demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices rose by 0.40% to Rs 812 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions after demand picked up in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October edged up by Rs 3.20, or 0.40%, to Rs 812 per kg in a business turnover of 129 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November traded higher by 50 paise, or 0.06%, to Rs 833 per kg in 35 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by traders due to pick up in demand in the spot market amid restricted supplies from producing region mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
