Cardamom up 1.1% on spot demand

Spice for delivery in June traded tad higher by 0.06%

Supported by rising domestic and export demand, cardamom prices rose by 1.14% to Rs 974.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May rose by Rs 11, or 1.14% to Rs 974.20 per kg in business turnover of 280 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in June traded tad higher by 60 paise, or 0.06% to Rs 977.10 per kg in 319 lots.

Market analysts attributed rise inc cardamom prices at futures trade to speculators creating fresh positions following pick-up in domestic and export demand in the spot market mainly.
