Cardamom futures rose by Rs 20.60 to Rs 1,302.90 per kg today, on speculators buying supported by reports of adverse weather conditions in producing regions amid strong domestic and export demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the May cardamom rose by Rs 20.60, or 1.6%, to Rs 1,302.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 406 lots.

The April contract traded higher by Rs 18.30, or 1.51%, to Rs 1,230 per kg, with business volume of 1,113 lots.

Traders said besides adverse weather conditions affecting the crop, strong domestic and export demand also influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
