Cardamom prices rose by Rs 25.30 to Rs 1,207.80 per kg in futures trade today on strong demand against restricted supplies in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for delivery in April surged by Rs 25.30, or 2.15%, to Rs 1,207.80 per kg, with a turnover of 350 lots.
Likewise, cardamom futures prices for delivery in March rose by Rs 24.10, or 2.14%, to Rs 1,149.90 per kg in 297 lots.
The commodity for delivery in May also traded higher by Rs 24.60, or 2.03%, to Rs 1,235 per kg, with a business volume of 130 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures prices to a strong demand in the physical market amid low stocks due to restricted supplies.
