Cardamom weakens 0.8% on poor demand

Prices weakened as speculators reduced their positions

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom futures for May declined by Rs 7.50, or 0.83%, to Rs 894.20 per kg in 216 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contract traded lower by Rs 7, or 0.80%, to Rs 867.30 per kg in 1,679 lots.

Prices weakened as speculators reduced their positions due to adequate stocks in physical market on higher supply from producing belts.

The sentiment weakened further as traders booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid subdued demand.
