Cashew rises on fresh buying

Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today, largely on pick up in buying activity on firm domestic demand due to festive and marriage season.

Tight supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.

Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 to settle at Rs 625-655 Rs 585-605, Rs 525-545 and Rs 445-480 per kg, respectively.
    
Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists against tight supplies from growing regions, mainly pushed up cashew prices.
    
Following are today's quotations in Rs per 40 kg:
    
Almond (California) Rs 10,000-10,300 Almond (gurbandi-new) Rs 4,800-4,900 almond (girdhi) Rs 2,450-2,600 and Abjosh Afghani Rs 6,000-15,000.
    
Almond kernel in per kg (California) Rs 360-365,almond kernel (gurbandi-new) (kg) Rs 300-350.
