Castorseed prices tumbled by Rs 86 to Rs 3,460 per quintal in future trading today due to weak global demand amid mounting stocks in domestic markets.
Prospects of higher production this season following heavy rains in the major producing regions further influenced the market sentiment.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for September dropped by Rs 86, or 2.43% to Rs 3,460 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,420 lots.
Most active near October contract dipped by Rs 70, or 1.93% to Rs 3,558 per quintal, in an open interest of 1,52,310 lots.
