Castorseed falls on fresh selling

Castorseed prices shed Rs 34 to Rs 3,637 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators off-loaded part of their holdings at existing higher levels.

Marketmen said speculators preferred to book profits on every rise in castorseed prices, fearing that the recent rise might lead to some correction.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the October contract for castorseed fell by Rs 34, or 0.93%, to Rs 3,637 per quintal, with an open interest of 9,710 lots.

The November contract lost Rs 35, or 0.94%, at Rs 3,686 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,01,550 lots.
