Castorseed falls on selling pressure

Reports of good monsoon in castorseed growing regions too put pressure on prices

Castorseed prices declined by Rs 40 to Rs 3,347 per quintal in the futures trading today following profit booking at existing higher levels.

Marketmen said tracking weak spot markets sentiment, traders preferred to reduced holdings, leading to decline in prices.

Reports of good monsoon in castorseed growing regions too put pressure on prices, they said.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for October delivery lost Rs 40, or 1.18%, to Rs 3,347 per quintal, with an open interest of 87,120 lots.

The November contract for castorseed also eased by Rs 29, or 0.84%, to Rs 3,440 per quintal, with an open interest of 50,270 lots.
