Castorseed prices moved down by Rs 24 to Rs 4,384 per quintal in futures trading today on fresh selling by traders in tandem with weak spot markets.

Marketmen said increased selling by traders guided by lower physical markets demand, mainly pulled down the prices in futures trade.

Increased supply from producing region against reduced offtake by traders in physical markets kept prices in the negative zone, they said.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for October delivery lost Rs 24, or 0.54%, to Rs 4,384 per quintal, with an open interest of 11,760 lots.

Castorseed for delivery in December went down by Rs 20, or 0.49%, to Rs 4,071 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,770 lots.

Likewise, the prices for delivery in November eased by Rs 5, or 0.12%, to Rs 4,250 per quintal, with an open interest of 23,050 lots.
