Caustic soda up on short supply

Caustic soda prices rose Rs 50 per 50 kg in the national capital today on account of firm demand from consuming industries amid short supply.

Caustic soda flake rose by Rs 50 to Rs 950-1,000 per 50 kg.

Marketmen said apart from good demand from detergent makers, tight supplies from producing belts also pushed up the caustic soda prices in the wholesale chemical market here.

Ammonium chloride (50 kg), Rs 1,500-2,200, acetic acid (1 kg) Rs 36-38, ammonia bicarb (25 kg) Rs 450-480, boric acid technical (50 kg) Rs 3,600-4,100, borex granular (50 kg) Rs 2,000-2,600

 

Caustic soda flake (50 kg) Rs 950-1,000, citric acid (50 kg) (China) Rs 2,700-3,050, citric acid deshi (50 kg) Rs 2,800-3,100, camphor slab (1 kg) Rs 325, camphor powder (1 kg) Rs 320

glycerine (1 kg) Rs 120-130, hexamine (1 kg) Rs 80, hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) Rs 33-35, mercury (34.5 kg) Rs 80,000, menthol bold crystal (per kg) Rs 985, menthol flake (1kg) Rs 965 and mentha oil (1 kg) Rs 910
