Cement shares have gone up this morning ahead of the monthly sales data, due later today.
Moreover, according to reports, cement prices have gone up 10% since September-end to an all-time high of Rs 280 per 50-kg bag. Interestingly, prices are rising when the industry is heading for another low-growth year after growing at a decade low of less than 5% in 2010-11.
Among individual stocks, Bheema Cements has gained 3.5%. Madras Cement, ACC and Ambuja Cement have surged 2.5% each. KCP, Ultratech Cement, NCL, JK Cement andShree Cement are also up. However, Shri Digvijay Cement has dropped 2% in morning trades.
