Central Bank FY09 net up 7%, stock gains

The stock finally ended 1% up at Rs 89. Around 507,571 shares changed hands on the BSE today.

Central Bank of India has gained following a 7% rise in profit in FY09.

The stock opened 1.5% higher at Rs 89.40 and slipped to a low of Rs 87. Thereafter, it gained 4.5% from its low to touch a high of Rs 91. The stock is now trading 1% up at Rs 89 and has gained 22% in the last one month. Over 377,000 shares have been traded at the counter today.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, the net profit has increased 7% to Rs 635.85 crore in the year ended March 31, 2009 from Rs 594.60 crore in the previous fiscal.

 

The total income is up 31% to Rs 11,540.97 crore from Rs 8804.55 crore.
