Cera Sanitaryware has surged 16% to Rs 2,193 on the BSE after the company reported a standalone net profit of Rs 15.67 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015 (Q1), in line with an analyst estimates. The company had profit of Rs 13.63 crore in the same quarter, year ago.
Net sales during the reported quarter rose 20% to Rs 194 crore against Rs 162 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal.
Analysts on an average had expected profit of Rs 16 crore on net sales of Rs 192 crore.
Operating profit before exceptional item increased 15% to Rs 29.43 crore in June quarter from Rs 25.52 crore in the previous year quarter.
The stock opened at Rs 1,885 and hit a low of Rs 1,859 on the BSE. A combined 376,425 shares changed hands on the counter on the BSE and NSE till 1432 hours.
