CROMPTON GREAVES (CG) surged 11.39 per cent to Rs 250.9 on announcement of positive Q4 results. The group’s net profit rose 35 per cent y-o-y to Rs 194 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, whereas its total income increased 22 per cent to Rs2,482 crore during the same period. For the full year, Crompton’s net profit and total income grew 38 per cent and 28 per cent, respectively.
The stock opened at Rs 226.9 and made an intraday high/low of Rs 268.95/Rs 225. The stock witnessed trading volumes of 6,36,318 shares (about 1.75 times its two-week average).
