Chana prices fell by 0.57% to Rs 3,826 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators offloaded their positions, triggered by increased arrival of new crops in the spot market.
Sluggish demand at prevailing higher levels also kept pressure on the prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the May contract declined by Rs 22, or 0.57%, to Rs 3,826 per quintal, with an open interest of 100,180 lots.
The April contract lost Rs 19, or 0.51% to Rs 3,691 per quintal, with an open interest of 40,990 lots.
Analysts said rising arrivals from new crop in the spot market against sluggish demand at prevailing higher levels mainly led to a fall in chana prices at futures market here.
