Chana down 0.9% on higher arrivals

Subdued demand in the spot market put pressure on chana prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices moved down by 0.99% to Rs 3,096 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions driven by higher arrivals from producing regions.

Further, subdued demand in the spot market put pressure on chana prices at futures trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in May fell by Rs 31, or 0.99% to Rs 3,096 per quintal with an open interest of 90,420 lots.

In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in April lost Rs 29, or 0.94% to Rs 3,052 per quintal in 20,060 lots.

Analysts attributed fall in chana prices at futures trade to higher arrivals from producing belts amid lower demand in the spot market.
