Chana down 1.1% on profit-booking

Chana for July delivery fell by 1%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices fell by 1.16% to Rs 2,975 per quintal in futures trade today on profit- booking by speculators amid subdued physical demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for August delivery declined by Rs 35, or 1.16%, to Rs 2,975 per quintal, with an open interest for 2,07,860 lots.

In a similar fashion, chana for July delivery fell by Rs 32, or 1.07%, to Rs 2,946 per quintal with open interest of 810 lots.

Traders said sluggish demand in the domestic market at existing higher prices and increased arrivals from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan mainly led to the fall in chana futures prices.
