Chana prices moved down by Rs 32 to Rs 3,427 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators booked profits on sluggish demand in the spot market.

Increased arrivals from producing region also put pressure on the chana futures price.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March fell by Rs 32, or 0.93% to Rs 3,427 per quintal with an open interest of 72,600 lots.

The April contract lost Rs 22, or 0.64% to Rs 3,421 per quintal in 82,280 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators on sluggish demand, increased arrivals from producing region also led to the fall in chana futures prices.
