Chana prices fell by 1.07% to Rs 3,238 per quintal in futures market today as speculators reduced their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market owing to sluggish demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in July fell by Rs 35, or 1.07%, to Rs 3,238 per quintal with an open interest of 1,72,940 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in the June contract declined by Rs 28, or 0.87%, to Rs 3,201 per quintal in 3,150 lots.

Market analysts said speculators reduced their positions on the back of sluggish demand in the spot market against increased supplies mainly kept pressure on chana prices at futures trade.
