Chana futures prices fell by Rs 67 to Rs 4,738 per quintal today as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels, driven by a subdued spot demand.

Increased supply from producing region also put pressure on chana prices in the futures trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the November contract for chana fell by Rs 67, or 1.39%, to Rs 4,738 per quintal with an open interest of 72,440 lots.

The October contract for chana fell by Rs 57, or 1.16% to Rs 4,840 per quintal in 54,150 lots.

Traders said subdued demand in the domestic market against increased arrivals from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan mainly led to the fall in chana prices in the futures market.
