Chana prices rose by Rs 7, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 2,217 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions in line with firming demand in spot markets.

At the Multi-Commodity Exchange, chana for August month rose by Rs 7, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 2,217 per quintal with an open interest of 1,066 lots.

Similarly, the chana for delivery in current month July gained Rs 5, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 2,173 per quintal in 1,423 lots.

Traders said increased positions created by speculators and the rise in demands at spot markets, influenced chana prices to trade higher at futures trade.
