Chana extends losses, down 0.26%

Higher supplies of new season crop in the physical markets affected the trade

Chana futures for April fell by Rs 9, or 0.26% to Rs 3,438 per quintal in 74,240 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange (NCDEX), the May contract declined Rs 7, or 0.2%, to Rs 3,484 per quintal in 16,320 lots.

Higher supplies of new season crop in the physical markets, subdued demand led to the fall in chana futures trade.

Reduced buying by speculators amid weak demand from millers in spot markets also affected the trade.
