Chana futures today extended losses by Rs 12 to Rs 2,228 per quintal at the Multi Commodity Exchange largely on the back of weak trend in physical markets amid sluggish demand.

The October-month contract fell by Rs 12, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 2,228 per quintal, in a trading volume of one lot, while September-month contract declined by Rs 3 or 0.14 per cent to Rs 2,190 per quintal, having a business volume of 11 lots.

Traders said subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stock positions, mainly led to the fall in chana prices in futures trade.
