Chana prices fell by Rs 22 to Rs 3,656 per quintal in futures trade today on increased arrivals of new crop in the spot markets.
Increased arrivals of new crop from producing regions of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Rajasthan mainly influenced the trading sentiments.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the May contract fell by Rs 22, or 0.60%, to Rs 3,656 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,02,970 lots.
The April contract moved down by Rs 21, or 0.59%, to Rs 3,544 per quintal, with a business volume of 45,420 lots.
Analysts said increasing arrivals in the spot market against subdued demand mainly led to a fall in chana prices at futures trade here.
