Chana prices further fell by Rs 45 to Rs 2,377 per 100 kg in futures trade today, as speculators preferred to book profits at existing higher levels, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for December contract declined by Rs 45, or 1.86 per cent to Rs 2,377 per 100 kg, with a business volume of three lots.

Marketmen said speculators booked profits at existing higher levels, which mainly pulled down the prices.

They said subdued demand against adequate supplies in the physical market on hopes of increased output this season further dampened the sentiment in futures trade.
