Chana prices declined by Rs 3, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 2,135 per quintal in futures trade today on sluggish demand, against increased arrivals in the physical market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, chana for delivery in July contract lost Rs 3, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 2,135 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,078 lots.

The commodity for delivery in August contract also traded lower by the same margin at Rs 2,176 per quintal, with an open interest of 448 lots.

Marketmen said increased supply in the physical market, against subdued demand mainly led to a fall in chana prices at futures trade.
